Mac host setup

Install the Remote Comp menu bar agent.

The Mac agent runs from your menu bar, shows the pairing code, requests Screen Recording and Accessibility, and checks for signed updates from Remote Comp.

Menu bar agent DMG

  1. Install from the DMGOpen the downloaded DMG, run the included installer, and the agent is copied to your Applications folder.
  2. Approve Mac permissionsUse the Remote Comp menu bar item to request Screen Recording and Accessibility for the installed app.
  3. Pair the controllerEnter the Local Pairing Code shown in the menu bar or scan the setup code from the iPhone or iPad controller.
  4. Stay currentThe agent checks for updates at launch, once per day, and when you choose Check for Updates from the menu.

Signed app identity

Permissions attach to the installed RemoteCompMacAgent.app path, so updates keep using the same menu bar host.

Stable update manifest

Updates read /downloads/mac-agent/latest.json and open the signed DMG link published there.

Tester-ready install

The DMG includes a LaunchAgent installer so testers do not need repository scripts or Xcode.
