Permissions attach to the installed RemoteCompMacAgent.app path, so updates keep using the same menu bar host.
Mac host setup
Install the Remote Comp menu bar agent.
The Mac agent runs from your menu bar, shows the pairing code, opens the required Screen & System Audio and Accessibility setup, and checks for signed updates from Remote Comp.
Send testers to remotecomp.app/mac. The download button always uses the latest signed and notarized Mac agent DMG.

Menu bar agent DMG
- Install from the DMGOpen the downloaded DMG, drag RemoteCompMacAgent.app to Applications, and open the signed app from there.
- Finish Mac setupOpen Screen & System Audio, then Accessibility. Remote Comp checks each step automatically and unlocks the app when both are done.
- Pair the controllerEnter the Local Pairing Code shown in the menu bar or scan the setup code from the iPhone or iPad controller.
- Stay currentThe agent checks for updates at launch, once per day, and when you choose Check for Updates from the menu.

Updates read /downloads/mac-agent/latest.json, verify the signed DMG, and install from the Mac agent menu.

The notarized DMG contains the signed universal Mac app, Applications shortcut, and step-by-step setup flow.
